It's Here! It's Here!

My book, The Teachable Moment is available on Kindle! And if that weren’t fancy enough, it is FREE until January 17th, 2011. I know, free. You can either go to Kaplan’s website or straight to The Teachable Moment on Amazon.com.

If you’re like me, and Santa didn’t bring you a Kindle (did he get my list?), but you have an iPhone, you can download the Kindle app to your iPhone and then download the book to your your iPhone.

Enjoy the free inspiration! Oh, and if you like the book, feel FREE to post a review on Amazon.com. Thanks!

  1. Hi,
Thanks for this post. I got really excited about this. Just tried to download this to my iPhone, but Amazon won't allow me to because I'm in Japan. Copyright restriction evidently. Bitterly disappointed. Can't understand this. I think this situation would be the same even if I the book were not free. Frustrating. Please make the book available to teachers in Japan.
    Cheers!

I just downloaded your book to my iPad and I am loving it. Thank you!

I was excited by this posting too…..until I tried to download it……….it's not available for free download in Autralia either! Too bad! Looks like I'll have to buy it the old fashioned way!!

Hi. It is also free to the Ipod! I just tried it and it worked. Yeah for me and thought you could let your readers know that just like the iPhone and and the iPad it works on the iPod too. I am not sure about the differences in all of the "i" devices and their applications but I have the iBooks app on my iPod.
I am so excited that it worked. Thanks for the post!

Dr. Bell, I just recently stumbled across your blog and cannot stop reading every entry. I was also wondering since NASP would be in SF this year, if maybe you'd be there? In a weekend I've become your fan!! I'm currently a 3rd year intern and wish I could be your intern!

  6. Rebecca says:

Sorry international fans (both of you!) that you can't get it on Kindle. I guess you'll have to be old fashioned and read it in book form. How 2004 is that? πŸ˜‰

@magma: Thanks! I will be at NASP, and I'm holding a meet-and-greet event on the Wed night of the conference. Stay tuned on the FB Fan page for details!

Just got it on my iPad. Thought it was interesting that in the "customers also bought" box, the first book was "The Big 5-Oh!". I wonder what that says about your readers πŸ™‚

Yep, I guess I'll have to go "retro" with the paperback πŸ™‚

I came upon your book while searching for "free" kindle books and am so pleased that I did. Not being a teacher myself, I really appreciate hearing that point of view and more than one of the essays brought me to tears.

I have a 6 year old and am fascinated watching her progress this first year of school. Your book (and also your blog) has given me so much food for thought.

I want you to know that even though I got your book at no charge, I've already purchased a copy and plan to buy more for some teachers I know!

  10. Rebecca says:

@Ann: Yea! Thanks for your support. Enjoy your little one as she goes through school–it is quite an adventure, and you'll be amazed at her progress. Kinder and 1st graders are really special. If I ever have a bad day, I go into their classrooms because they are such a kick. I hope your teacher friends enjoy the book too. πŸ™‚

  11. I loved reading this! I'm a mom to a preschooler, an RN by college training. I hope to have unexpected "Teachable Moments" with both my daughter and my patients and their families.
As we all know Teaching/Learning don't just happen in the classroom of a school; but in the most unexpected places at most enexpected times. As a caregiver, I yearn for those moments when i can "touch" someone!
